180 Degree Rule

180 Degree Rule

The 180 Degree Rule is when whilst filming as 180 Degree axis is imagined between the camera an the axis. The rule itself is that the camera must stay on one side of the axis to prevent a reversed shot

Crossing the line changes the viewer's perspective in such as way that it causes disorientation and confusion. For this reason, crossing the line is something to be avoided.
