PRODUCTION - Production schedule update

This shows our original production schedule which we created for our presentation:

However, we have made some changes which also affected the production schedule:
1. Our first change was that along with us 4 being characters in our opening, some of our friends are also going to participate because we decided that the people being killed should be different than the killers itself. Our decision was that Eloise's victim is going to be me, my victim is going to be one of my friends, Tyrese's victim is also going to be one of my friends and Vicky's victim is going to be one of Eloise's friends.

2. For our Thursday, 26th, morning lesson where we were going to film the scene in Liverpool, we filmed our scene in the Drama studio instead as one of the victims couldn't make it that day.

3. For Saturday, 28th, our filming coulnd't work again as we realised we didn't have our memory cards and the weather outside was also bad, windy and raining.

This is our improved schedule that we are using:

PLANNING - Pitch feedback and evaluation

From this feedback we know that to improve the pitch we could go into detail on the technical aspects, for example, who was filming, what angles.
We also now know that we should have included all of the actors in the pitch.

From the feed back we've decided to change location from Liverpool Street Station to Angel Station as we researched and found out that most people are told to stop filming in Liverpool street station as it is so popular, whereas angel wouldn't be as busy and is larger so we wouldn't get in the way.
Also we have also managed to put in time to film during a 3 hour lesson otherwise it would be a waste, and it would meant that we gad  ore time to re film if anything went wrong.

PLANNING - Half-term planning homework

My ideas for our "Project Scorpio" opening are:
- 4 spies who are connected in the same secret organisation
- each one of us being a spy and all having something symbolic, such as a scorpion necklace or a scorpion tattoo
- having one character who will be our boss
- having a fighting scene (however, that would be difficult to accomplish as we need to find two people who can imitate a real fighting scene)
- having a scene with all of us in the same room in school and having the text "3 years ago..." to create an interest in the audience of what has happened to us that we became the killers we are as grown ups

For locations I thought we should find more quite and not so crowded locations:

Firstly I thought about the Greenwich foot tunnel as it looks a bit creepy to me, as well as mysterious.

There is also a path in Jubile Park in Leyton, which would look good with our plot, genre and actions

I also considered not so quiet places such as the front of Westfield, Stratford or a big station like Kings Cross or Liverpool street station.

The props I thought are significant for use are:

There are a couple things I considered about costumes as well:

All black costumes would be significant as black conveys power, elegance, formality, death, evil, and mystery.

All formal and elegant costumes (no ripped jeans or t-shirts or shorts, etc) will convey that we are all grown up people when we are killing the people.

Casual costumes for the scene where we are in a school classroom and we show how we were 3 years ago

PLANNING - draft of storyboard (Eloise)

PLANNING - Technology skills audit (Petya)

We have learned many technology skills such as how to use softwares for editing, for adding titles over images, for recording and annotating video on a computer, how to create a logo for less than 10 minutes and how to create the Distribution company for a film.

SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE

PLANNING - Risk assessment (Petya)

During our filming process we may face some possible risks so we need to think about what they may be and have possible solutions to prevent them. For example:

1. We should be careful by carrying the equipment while walking so we will make sure that there isn't only one person who carries everything.

2. We should make sure the camera is put properly and balanced on its camera stand.

3. If we are filming outside, we need to check the weather and if it's going to rain or have strong wind, we could re-arrange our schedule and find another possible time.

4. We should still have protection for the our filming equipment in case it starts raining and we didn't know.

5. If we are going to have another person who we film, we need to make sure he/she doesn't damage the camera due to poor knowledge of the equipment.

PLANNING- Mis-en-scene- Location & Setting (Vicky)

The locations that we will use in our film opening are:
  • An underground station
  • Liverpool Street
  • A dark room
  • An escalator at a train station
This is a dark room whereby all the violent scenes of the
film will take place. This will be shown for a few
seconds as the titkes appear over it.

The type of underground station that we will be using.
This will be one of the locations used in the film opening.

This will be one of the locations used in the film opening.

We have chosen Liverpool street to be our main location for
our opening. This is a busy place and it fits with our
opening which requires a rushing area.

PLANNING Pitch-Institutional Detail (Tyrese)

Institutional Detail

Type of Productions

The product we will be creating will be classed as an independent film due to the fact that it will be "produced mostly or completely outside of the major film studio system, in addition to being produced and distributed by independent entertainment agencies"

Who will distribute the film?

Our film will be distributed by an independent distributor which is fresh and new and created with the purpose to distribute this film. the name of our distributor is Zack'ary

This is the logo and IDENT we created for our film.

Distribution Techniques: Being an independent distributor often means that you have find independent ways to promote your product the easiest ways is to create social media sites which

Here is our Twitter page dedicated to the promotion of our product
Here is our Facebook page dedicated to the promotion of our product

What other companies are similar to ours?

Axiom Films- This is a distributor similar to our own as it is an independent distributor which distributes UK films

A Film"Axiom" have produced which are similar to our own:

Frozen River

A film distributed by Axiom films which is like our own project is a thriller which has an opening which conveys the fast pace and mystery of a thriller film

Famous director Quentin Tarantino has described this film as "the most exciting thriller I've seen this year" this would lead me to believe that we have made a good choice with our company

Effect of ownership

our group being independent would mean that we could have a bit more control over the titles we have as in our product. despite this we would of course be trying to keep up with the conventions and codes associated with our chosen genre.

(Task 25) PLANNING - Head on activity

From this mood board there are themes of danger, death whilst with class, as there is a lot of black and white, which is a convention of an old classic spy film . Another convention is being set in London as it is a big city, as lot of spy films involve being in a big city. The blurred image represents how the spies would blend into a crowd. The idea of the black outfits to blend as well is a convention of spies.
